Men's Study Resources

  • Man in the Mirror (www.maninthemirror.org) offers a variety of Bible studies, articles and other resources for ministry to and with men.
  • Men's Bible Study Series is available online (www.pcusa.org/men/biblestudy.htm) from the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Each study explores men's issues through a particular book of the Bible.
  • Faith Crossings series, available from Christian Board of Publication (www.cbp21.com) contains a variety of study resources for adult small groups.
  • The Kerygma Program (www.kerygma.com) offers a variety of Bible studies, long or short, beginning, intermediate or advanced. These resources could be very rewarding to a group of men who were willing to invest themselves more fully in Bible study.
  • Transforming Bible Study by Walter Wink (available at Amazon.com) is a methodology by which people can have a creative encounter with Biblical texts. Professor Wink offers help in engaging people in group encounters that encourage imagination and feeling and that move beyond academic study of the Bible.
  • LifeSearch is a popular group study series (available through cokesbury.com) that examines important issues of our day from a Christian perspective, specifically intended for those who are seeking ways to relate their faith to real life. For use in small-group settings, it is a flexible guide to in-depth study of current life topics. Participants are encouraged to view the topic not only from a personal concern, but from a communal/ congregational concern.
  • Men's Life (www.menslife.org/hmml_resources.htm) is designed to intentionally appeal to the issues men face. While Bible study resources represent the most visible component of Men's Life, perhaps the most significant is the strategy, training, and support which goes along with it.
